Fruta Feia on Journal of Cleaner Production
The scientific article titled "A sustainable business model to fight food waste" was published in Journal of Clearner Production, which analyzes the sustainability of Fruta Feia's business model in three aspects: economic, social and environmental. This article is the result of a masters thesis in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon.

Fruta Feia arrived in Almada!
On December 5th we launched our ninth delivery point, located in the Academia Almadense, where we will be every Tuesday from 17h to 21h.
By increasing the number of delivery points to 9 across the country, we will now be able to save 12 tonnes of fruits and vegetables every week!

Fruta Feia present at European Social Innovation conference
Fruta Feia was one of the participating projects during the European conference "Opening up to an era of Social Innovation", jointly organised by the European Comission, the Portuguese Government and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, celebrated on the 27th and 28th of November.
In addition to presenting our cooperative to hundreds of national and international visitors, we also made ourselves known to the President of the Republic! Watch video here (min 7:50)

4 years with Fruta Feia: Congratulations!
WE ARE 4 YEARS OLD:
We have grown from 1 to 9 workers, from 8 to 145 farmers, from 100 to 3700 consumers, from 1 to 8 delivery points, from 400 Kg to 10 tonnes of food saved per week.
Since our start in November 2013, we have saved 770 tonnes of fruits and vegetables, ugly but tasty, from going to the garbage!

Fruta Feia at the presentation of the National Strategy to Fight Food Waste
The National Strategy to Fight Food Waste and respective Action Plan were presented on November 8 2017 by the National Commission to Fight Food Waste, in a public session chaired by the Minister of Agriculture, Foresty and Rural Development.
This Strategy results of the work carried out over the last year by the National Commission Against Food Waste, in which several Civil Society initiatives were auditioned, including Fruta Feia.
For the presentation of November 8 in that Ministry, Fruta Feia was one of the projects invited to present its work over the last 4 years, having placed food waste due to appearance on the agenda!
