Fruta Feia arrived in Braga!

On May 24th we launched our eleventh delivery point, located in the Bar Académico, where we will be every Thursday from 17h to 21h. 

By increasing the number of delivery points to 11 across the country, we will now be able to save 15 tonnes of fruits and vegetables every week!

Consumers who want to register and join us this new delivery point sign up here and, as we open new vacancies, we will invite you according to the registration data on our website.

Fruta Feia arrived in Amadora!

On May 16th we launched our tenth delivery point, located in the Mercado da Venteira, where we will be every Wednesday from 17h to 21h. 

By increasing the number of delivery points to 10 across the country, we will now be able to save 14 tonnes of fruits and vegetables every week!

Fruta Feia in Azores

On April 26, as part of the celebration of the Regional Production Day, we were present at the seminar "Azores with added value", in Ponta Delgada, to present the work developed by Fruta Feia and talk about the importance of cooperation in consumption.

The commemoration of the Regional Production Day coincides with the National Production Day, which aims to raise awareness of consumers to the social and economic importance of Portuguese production, as well as to appeal to the consumption of what is produced in the country, where Fruta Feia was highlighted an example of local consumption, social innovation and cooperation.

Fruta Feia in Canada

Fruta Feia was present at the Terroir Symposium in Toronto, in this 12th edition dedicated to the theme "The powerful economics of local".

On the 1st day, Isabel Soares presented the work of our Cooperative - almost a thousand tons of waste avoided since the end of 2013! The crowd applauded, shouted that in Canada they have the same problem and they want Fruta Feia there!

On the 2nd day, on an excursion through the countryside of Ontario (Norfolk County), it was possible for some local producers to meet Fruta Feia. The problem is repeated in an even greater proportion on the other side of the Atlantic.

On both days, the background theme was the gastronomy made with local products, which allowed the chefs to challenge the dictatorship of aesthetics in fruits and vegetables and the role they can play in their kitchens.

Fruta Feia has fulfilled its mission: it has put the problem of food waste due to the appearance on the table and has shaken consumption patterns! This time, overseas.
